Find out what people have to say about the Seishinjuku Karate Dojo

It is quite hard to find authentic, traditional martial arts today true to their origins with a genuine connection to a line of real masters. This karate dojo in Bardon can boast a direct connection to such a lineage which essentially means that you can have a genuine experience of the holistic lifestyle engagement of all True karate training. This dojo is a place where humility, honour integrity and other old world values such as personal development and discipline are developed and encouraged. Self defence, confidence and friendship grow as a result of hard work! It is a unique opportunity for young and old to enhance their life, and I would encourage anyone from children to those who are older to visit and consider how the development of mind and body can add value to your life!

I have been practising Shorinjiryu karate for over 10years. There have been times where I have considered other styles but I always stay with Shorinjiryu. It suits my physic well as I’m not a large person but having said that the style is flexible and advanced enough that the techniques adapt to different body types and abilities.
Seishinjuku Dojo in Bardon follows the Watanabe Ha teachings of Shorinjiryu and has stayed true to Shinan Hisataka who developed the style. Sensei Jason Romer is a skilled karateka and teacher. His Dojo is small but dedicated, providing a niche learning environment. The relationship between sensei (teacher) and student is best when the student demonstrates commitment, dedication and respect.
I thoroughly enjoy training under the guidance of Sensei Jason and would recommend karate to anyone looking to improve their fitness/agility, knowledge of martial arts/self defence, and self respect/confidence.
